Literary agency seeks full time assistant to work closely with two Vice Presidents/Agents. Applicant should be interested in commercial fiction and commercial non-fiction, as well as other varied genres.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answering and placing telephone calls
- Composing press kits for submissions
- Writing rejection letters
- Tracking payments and contracts through various stages
- Tracking submissions
- Keeping detailed schedules
- Generating expense reports
- Corresponding with clients via email and phone
- Reading queries and evaluating manuscripts
*** Additional job responsibilities may be assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience at an agency or in book publishing
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus, and Outlook
- Superior organizational skills and very detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
